Foundations Physio specialise in physiotherapy for the elderly and patients with neurological conditions in Surrey and Hampshire. We can visit you at your own home or care home at your convenience, whether you’re in Fleet, Basingstoke, Woking or anywhere else in the surrounding area. Home physiotherapy is hugely beneficial for helping to restore movement and function, as well as to alleviate pain and facilitate recovery.
On this page, we’ve provided some more information about our physiotherapy services. If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, we urge you to contact us on 07817 495791. Our therapists will be happy to answer any queries.
We run a mobile service to carry out physiotherapy at your own home or at your retirement or nursing establishment. Not only does this make accessing treatment easier for anyone with reduced mobility or poor balance, but makes sure they are in a more relaxed environment too. When one of our trained physiotherapists visits you, they can also recommend ways to make your surroundings safer to promote recovery. Based in Fleet, we are happy to travel to locations all over Surrey and Hampshire including Basingstoke.
At Foundations Physio, we run individual and group exercise sessions for all abilities in various care environments. This includes a PD Fit group tailored specifically for those with Parkinson’s disease who are newly diagnosed and independently mobile. All our relaxed and friendly classes are delivered safely under the guidance of one of our expert physiotherapists. Regular exercise is beneficial no matter your age and group sessions are a great way to build strength, confidence and engage the mind. Take a look at our website gallery page for some examples of our popular classes in progress.
Our team has many years of experience in the assessment and treatment of people with neurological conditions in and around the Basingstoke and Woking areas. Some of the most common conditions we treat include Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, Brain Injury, MS, Spinal Cord Injury, MND, Gullian-Barré Syndrome, Transverse Myelitis and Neuropathies. Our tailored home physiotherapy service includes expert assessment, advice and treatment.
We specialise in postural management, a multi-disciplinary approach to help manage your posture over 24 hours. The process involves creating a bespoke programme tailored to your individual needs, goals and postural problems. As part of your programme we may fabricate or advise on splints, recommend specialist seating or cushions and suggest positions to try throughout the day and night. Our therapists will create valuable photographic guidelines to help carers or family members with positioning in the bed, wheelchair or favourite comfy chair.
After injury, surgery or any disruption to the musculoskeletal system, you may require physiotherapy to aid in your recovery. Our orthopaedic rehabilitation programmes help you to restore strength and motion in the muscles, tendons, ligaments or bones, as well as to manage pain. We commonly treat people recovering from joint replacements, spinal surgery or fractures. This can be done as part of a home physiotherapy programme.
Getting the right wheelchair is essential and assessment is very important to determine what type of assistance is most suitable. At Foundations Physio, we carry out specialist postural assessments and can arrange trials with private companies to help you find the perfect chair. Our experts provide assessments for anything from a basic wheelchair to a custom moulded power chair for clients in Woking and wider Surrey and Hampshire areas. We also help to source funding where required via your GP or local wheelchair service.
Health & Nutrition Assessments
As part of our home physiotherapy plans, we offer health and nutrition assessments as an additional service. Assessments are completed by Alison Cooper, a specialist physiotherapist in our team with a MSc degree in Nutritional Therapy and a registration with the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy (BANT). The assessment takes between one hour to an hour and a half, which includes a detailed dietary assessment and subsequent treatment plan or recommendations based on your individual needs and goals.
Specialist Clinics & Training
We run specialist clinic and training sessions for care providers in Basingstoke, Woking and all surrounding areas. These can include topics on anything from falls prevention and postural management to risk assessment and splint application. Tailored to your individual service needs, theses sessions are highly beneficial for improving the health and comfort of your residents. We often run rehabilitation clinics for care facilities and also carry out educational talks for charities. Get in touch today to find out more.
